Simply follow the steps:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Boot Ubuntu 11.04 with a live-cd or usb.<\/li>\n<li>Mount the partition that includes the encrypted directory. You can easily do this by selecting <code>Places -> PartitionName<\/code>.<\/li>\n<li>Open a terminal (<code>Applications -> Accessories -> Terminal<\/code>).<\/li>\n<li>Run\n<pre lang=\"bash\">sudo ecryptfs-recover-private<\/pre>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>You will be prompted to enter the password that corresponds to the user of this partition.
